8. He Doesn’t Regret Pushing Himself Into The Spotlight
Conrad Thompson brought up a solid point during the podcast. Never one to miss the chance to bust someone's balls, he asked Bischoff if he regretted pushing himself at the expense of talent between 1996-1997. Eric's answer was an emphatic no, and here's why.
Bischoff was a heat-seeking missile during the nWo days. Fans legit wanted to see someone kick his scrawny ass and put him in his place. That was Larry Zbyszko's, job, and Eric's was to fan the flames of hatred his way before Starrcade. At the same time, he could appreciate why some workers who had wrecked their bodies to get to such a platform would be upset.
He didn't really care.
All Bischoff wanted to do in 1997 was make Starrcade a success and make money for WCW. Personal gripes didn't come into it when he was nailing his promos and giving people what they wanted by getting inside the ring.
