9. He Didn't Feel Like "One Of The Boys" Until Joining The Nation
The first 18 months of WWF life didn't go well.
Indeed, Henry admits in the doc that he didn't feel like he belonged in pro wrestling until joining The Nation Of Domination in January 1998. He specifically thanks The Rock and D'Lo Brown for helping him realise that he had something to offer beyond his early Olympic strongman flurry.
Another note of interest is that neither Faarooq nor The Godfather held back in their appraisals or criticism of Mark's work. He views that as helpful, because it allowed him to learn what he was doing right and compare it to what he was doing wrong nightly on house shows.
Looking back as a fan, it always seemed like WWE were burning through some stories with Henry to try and squeeze whatever they could from him. Now, we know that he wasn't comfortable behind the scenes and didn't think he'd last.
