10 Things We Learned From Sami Zayn On Talk Is Jericho
The Likeable One is back for another chat with his new rival.
Sami Zayn has quickly begun to live up to the expectation many had set for him when he was still tearing it up in NXT, as his most ardent supporters impatiently waited for the talented star to get his chance at success on the main roster.
Now that Zayn had become a fixture, he's already a focal point of Raw and Smackdown and is in heading into Payback as part of what is likely the second most anticipated match on the show.
Sami is connecting with audiences through a combination of outstanding ring work and a genuine sense of likability, as "the underdog from the underground" has become a primary candidate to fill the void left by the retirement of Daniel Bryan.

10. Neville's Injury
We open the interview with Sami mentioning that being in Newcastle is a tad bittersweet because it’s Neville’s hometown and he’s not there to enjoy it. They talk about how unfortunate his injury was, which (coincidentally) took place in a match with Chris Jericho.
Zayn says the miraculous thing is that Neville has had an 11 or 12 year career without suffering any serious setbacks, something that is virtually unheard of in their line of work.
The injury was an even bigger disappointment because Neville, along with Zayn, Owens and the rest of that scene, was apparently set to take part in the multi-man Intercontinental ladder match at WrestleMania 32, and he mentions how much his friend could have shined in a match of that nature.
Chris talks about how frustrating it is when you get hurt on everyday routine move and then points out that the baseball slide is far more dangerous than people would expect.
In addition to Neville, he names Christian and Curtis Axel as others who have ended up injured from the maneuver and both guys advocate trying to avoid them if at all possible.
