Trips didn't think WWE were being serious about his 25th Anniversary.
When several folks backstage brought up the ida of celebrating, he actually thought they were playing with him and that the whole thing would end up being a rib. Imagine it - Triple H with a beaming smile and Vince McMahon coming out to say, "You're the sh*ts, pal".
That was pretty much what was running through Hunter's mind. He hadn't even kept tabs on the fact a major landmark was coming up, and he never thought for one second that anyone else in WWE would care. That's either bashful and modest or a little white lie from 'The Game'. Of course WWE would want to mention 25 years of service.
Triple H told Corey that looking back on his career now gives him a new perspective on everything he achieved. At the time, he was just running hard and didn't stop to smell the roses. Slowing down in-ring has let him do that.
