9. How 'Edge Appreciation Night' Led To Marriage
The 16 September 2011 episode of SmackDown was dubbed 'Edge Appreciation Night' by WWE. It happened a mere five months after his retirement, and it was going to be a night of handshakes, hugs and tributes. Little did Edge know, it'd also help him find the love of his life.
He and Beth had always "been cordial" before that night, but they began talking more after embracing in-ring and ended up going on their first date the very next day. It didn't take long for them to bond over the quirky fact that Phoenix had trained in the same gyms, worked shows in the same dive bars and knew many of the same people as Edge.
She just did it all seven years after he did.
Five years after meeting properly on that standard WWE suck up show, Edge and Beth married in October 2016. Now, they've got two daughters and noted several times during the doc they couldn't imagine life without one another.
