Back in 1997, she was readying to complete her studies at York University in Toronto and begin her career as a qualified doctor. That's when sh*t hit the fan. A strike brought on by a disagreement between staff and the uni's faculty chiefs affected 60% of classes at York. That included Trish's biology and kinesiology courses.

The strike forced Stratus to totally change her plans overnight, and she was distraught. In the doc, Trish notes that she finds it hard to deviate from a goal once she has one in mind. She didn't have a choice on this occasion though. The strike altered her destiny and pushed her towards fitness modelling.

She'd prove to be a natural there. Robert Kennedy, a renowned muscle and fitness publisher, is someone Trish credits for mentoring her through that industry. He admired her drive, and viewed Stratus as the female equivalent to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
