10. Vince McMahon Knew He "Wasn't There"
Vince McMahon is often painted as a cold, calculating businessman who never lets personal feelings get in the way of business. That might be true for many (and is the popular narrative about 'zany', 'quirky' and 'machine like' Vince), but The Undertaker is an exception.
McMahon was deathly worried about his friend at 'Mania 33.
He knew 'Taker would have a massive decision to make personally afterwards, because he clearly couldn't go on without taking stock of things. The man's body was giving out on him, and it killed Vince to watch someone who had given so much look so dissatisfied with his own performances.
It's easy to spot the affection both Vince and 'Taker have for one another throughout this second chapter. They've been through almost everything together since 1990, and that includes crucial interventions away from the ring that let Mark Calaway know Vinnie Mac has his back.
