10. Vince McMahon Responded To Sting’s Text “Immediately”
Upon leaving TNA in January 2014, Sting had a decision to make. At that point, he was 54 years old, and it would've been easy for him to sit at home or dip a toe into WWE life by appearing as a talking head on NWA/WCW-related documentaries. That wasn't what the Stinger wanted.
He wanted to wrestle.
Aware that he didn't have a lot of time to work with if he was going to wrestle in a WWE ring, Sting took the plunge and text both Triple H and Vince McMahon after getting their numbers. To his surprise, McMahon responded within seconds (the man never sleeps) and said he'd be delighted to sit down and chat.
Sting was hoping for this. To him, it would've been a big mistake to retire from the ring without seeing what it'd be like to work in WWE. Later, when they got the ball rolling, it was Triple H who took control of negotiations with the WCW legend.
