10 Things WWE Are Getting Absolutely Right

10. The Drifter

Few wrestlers are capable of drawing genuine heel heat these days. Crowd dynamics have changed immensely over the past few years, and fans are going to root for the performers they find the most entertaining, regardless of their alignment. Villains like Kevin Owens are often among the company's most vociferously cheered competitors, while major babyfaces are regularly jeered.

Elias is one of the few exceptions. He's a bad guy who knows how to make you loathe him, and while his gimmick's shelf life is questionable, WWE are doing a great job with him at the moment.

Crowds boo the bejesus out of 'The Drifter' as soon his he strums his first chord, and his in-ring busking sessions always accomplish what they're supposed to. He's not the most charismatic guy, but his songs get a reaction, and he's a better wrestler than many give him credit for. Elias is a workmanlike grappler, but that's all he needs to be on the midcard, where he'll likely remain for the duration of his run.

He'll never set the world alight, but while his peers are getting cheered, 'The Drifter' is doing what every heel's supposed to do: draw heat.
