The booking of The Ascension since they debuted on the main roster has been poor. They beat some loser teams at the start, but then they were booked like jokes that thought they were better than they were and the announcers ended up laughing at them a lot. That wasn't good for them. At Payback they faced the comedy duo of Macho Mandow and AxelMania. A lot of people, myself included, figured Sandow and Axel would win the match because they are a feel good comedy team. Instead, The Ascension made quick work of them and won the match easily. With the tag team Elimination Chamber match looming in two weeks, it makes sense for The Ascension to go over as well as receive a mild push. WWE has to be willing to give them a shot to get some credibility as a team. In order to do that they need to get wins like the victory at Payback. A decisive win by The Ascension was the right booking decision. Hopefully it leads to better things for The Ascension in the future.
