8. Pretty Mean Sisters Really Isnt That Long Of A Name
And now for more Attitude Era innuendo. Pretty Mean Sisters was a female stable formed in 1998 comprising of Terri Runnels, Jacqueline, and Ryan Shamrock. Brought together by their mutual bad experiences with their male counterparts, these three women were on a mission to assert themselves. And just look at what the abbreviated version of their stable name spells out: P.M.S. Hilarious. In what should come as a surprise to no one, this was the apparent brainchild of Vince Russo, who could really crank out these creative gems back then. The WWE has a dubious track record at best in terms of their depiction of female characters. In this instance, they were seemingly trying to present a stable of strong, independent women but they all but killed that notion by bestowing upon them a name associated with one of the most tired and stereotypical bits of sexism. This time of the month reference, however, was likely not picked up upon by the pre-pubescent crowd.
