In more news potentially portending TNA Wrestling's possible closure, multiple-time tag champion and former World Heavyweight Champion of the promotion James Storm debuted at Thursday night's NXT tapings for WWE. While the particulars of his deal were not disclosed, the idea that Storm was allowed to keep his name and gimmick from TNA is significant. WWE may actively want to push the 38-year old veteran's storied championship background as a significant asset to his character, which would certainly aid in getting him over to the WWE Universe. It's completely understandable if you're only tangentially aware of James Storm. While yes, Storm was a major superstar in TNA, as compared to WWE, TNA's market recognition is quite low. However, Storm is a veteran blue-chipper whose talents have been co-signed by Steve Austin and Jim Ross, and he's a rare talent who actually completely benefited from his time in TNA as it allowed him to fully evolve as both a man and a performer.
