Jushin 'Thunder' Liger is coming to WWE! Well, more specifically NXT, but still, this is major news for a variety of reasons. Liger will wrestle Tyler Breeze on NXT's show at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn on August 22nd. It will be the masked man's first ever WWE match. What took him so long to get there? Well, while WWE was half-heartedly presenting its light heavyweight and cruiserweight divisions, Liger was wowing audiences the world over with his innovative blend of lucha libre inspired high flying and Japanese submission and strike-based offense, becoming one of the best wrestlers in the world as he went. Liger is a legend in Japan, an iconic figure who still provokes a reaction whenever he appears on a card. He can also still go at the ripe old age of 50, keeping up with the current crop of young up-and-coming wrestlers (and maybe even teaching them a thing or two). Along with Japan, Liger has also wrestled for WCW, TNA, ROH and other indie promotions the world over. He's still in hot demand, some thirty years after his pro debut. It has been a long time coming but, finally, WWE fans are going to see what Liger is all about. Before he steps foot in a WWE ring, however, there are a few things you should know about Jushin Liger.
