In 2008, Rosa Mendes made her debut as a fan obsessed with "The Glamazon" Beth Phoenix. She could regularly be seen sitting in the audience, pining after her idol and holding signs up in support of the Women's champion. Eventually, she was brought into the equation and the potentially deranged fan angle was dropped, as was anything resembling a push for the Diva who had spent so much time in developmental. She was almost instantly treated as an afterthought and was shoved to the background, a prison she was never really able to escape.
