The 2014 edition of WWE Night of Champions is done and once again it was a show that was building to the next PPV rather than providing fans with finality on a lot of the major storylines. Brock Lesnar, the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, wasn't able to beat John Cena although he's still the champ thanks to the interference from Seth Rollins. It's probably going to lead to another Lesnar/Cena match possibly at October's Hell in a Cell event. Since the PPV was called Night of Champions, all five titles in WWE were on the line. Three of them changed hands. Two of the title victories were by people that lost their titles five weeks earlier at SummerSlam. The absence of Roman Reigns was addressed. In case you haven't read or heard about it, Reigns is on the shelf for a few months after undergoing emergency hernia surgery on Saturday. He was scheduled to face off with Rollins. Instead, Rollins had to fight off a returning Dean Ambrose although it wasn't an official match. It's time to take a closer look at Night of Champions by looking at the things WWE did right at the event. There are always things we can complain about, but it's more fun to look at the positives both in the ring and from a booking perspective to try to figure out where WWE might be going next.
