10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Mick Foley

7. He Refused To Sign A WWE Legends Deal

Foley made headlines back in April when he publicly stated why he wasn't going to sign a WWE Legends deal. Here is some of what Foley wrote about on his Facebook page why he wasn't going to sign it: "To deal or not to deal €“ that is the question. As some of you may have heard, at this point, I am opting not to sign my Legends Marketing Deal, which gives €#€ŽWWE the right to market my likeness on video games and action figures. I€™ll be writing in more detail about this in the next week or so, but it would be fair to say that, despite strong sales, I have found the payoffs for the past two video games to be extremely weak €“ in the 25% range of what most talent was expecting." He went on to say that "very few current wrestlers are going to jeopardize their standing with the company by offering resistance" and most legends would sign because it's better than nothing. Since that time he has talked about how his relationship with WWE has been strained a bit. Foley's time these days is spent with his family and also traveling all over the world doing his comedy show. The reason Foley has "heat" with WWE over this is that normally a wrestler isn't going to say why they may or may not sign a Legends Deal. Foley complained about the pay in a public forum. That's not something WWE wants their talent to do, so that's why you aren't hearing WWE putting over Foley on their shows.
