10. COVID's Part in Nia Jax's Release

From the onset, WWE was very cautious of how it handled any PR related to COVID-19, to the point that referring to it as anything but "unprecedented times" was essentially banned. And when it came to getting vaccinated, this led to even higher tension.

In one of the mass rounds of "budget cuts", dozens of wrestlers were released from WWE, including Nia Jax. And while no official statement has ever said why—as WWE doesn't even announce these releases at all anymore, let alone the cause—most of the speculation has been that she and some others were let go for refusing to be vaccinated.

Jax claimed she was taking a break from WWE to focus on her mental health and was then informed about her release "without consultation", but did specify:

"I stood my ground on things that I know they not happy about. I chose not to get the vaccine. It was a personal choice and I remember sitting down with Vince because the entire two years I was there, we were tested every day, I never popped positive or had COVID. He said, ‘Well kid, you’re not going to be able to fill some of your contractual duties.’ I was like, if that’s the case, then that’s the case."

Jax would bring this back up and also voice her opinion on Ukraine, saying "All these mfs saying 'I stand with Ukraine' couldn't even stand for their own personal rights for 2 years because they were scared to breathe"

WWE these days tries to stay apolitical most of the time outside of some very generic and less divisive opinions, so any time a Superstar takes a firm stance on any issue one way or another, it tends to stay off-screen and in the land of social media.
