Going back to the start of Rollins' wrestling career, he actually worked briefly for WWE's nemesis TNA in 2006. He worked a tag match under his real name Colby Lopez, alongside Jeff Luxon, battling The Latin American Xchange (Homicide and Hernandez) at the October 2006 Impact tapings. The result was a loss and he didn't really feel too comfortable in the TNA environment. But he still came close to signing a TNA deal. It was definitely an option. History could have ended up being very different if he had signed there. As it happened, there was a flourishing independent scene, which offered Rollins the option to pursue his craft in a more open and expressive environment. He worked his way through Full Impact Pro, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and of course Ring Of Honor.
