A seemingly innocuous promo from Booker T, Stevie Ray and Sherri Martel has taken on a life of its own, now regarded as one of the most unintentionally hilarious moments in pro wrestling history. Calling out Hulk Hogan during a heel promo as Harlem Heat, Booker would unfortunately bring some his everyday verbiage into the interview, basically using the 'N' word most closely described as a derogatory name for African Americans. As a black man himself, it wasn't exactly racism, but WCW was a kid-friendly product at the time, ruled by a tight corporate set of regulations. In short, calling a fellow wrestler anything of the sort was a very bad thing, something Booker himself quickly realised, burying his head in his hands. Sherri couldn't help but smile at the incident, and she reportedly wasn't alone. Approaching Booker T backstage after he'd seen it, Hulk Hogan was in stitches, unable to hide his delight at the slip. In all honesty, how else could Hogan take such a remark? It was such a ridiculous scenario that the wrestlers simply had to see the funny side of the story.
