Like most Divas that found work in WWE prior to Triple H taking over developmental and working almost exclusively with trained female competitors, Naomi did not have a wrestling background when she was hired by Vince McMahon's company. A young woman with a dance background, she had previously performed under the bright lights of the National Basketball League with the Orlando Magic dance squad. It provided her with the confidence she needed, having done her job in front of a live crowd night in and night out, to take the leap of faith and accept a contract offer from WWE when the opportunity presented itself soon after.
