10 Things You Didn't Know About Rick Rude

3. Appeared On WWF, WCW & ECW TV In Same Week

Rick Rude despised what had happened to Bret Hart at the 1997 Survivor Series. Infamously, the man would appear on a pre-taped episode of Monday Night Raw and a live edition of WCW Monday Nitro on the same evening in November, '97. That story is fairly common knowledge, but Rude also appeared on ECW television during the same week. A lot of Extreme Championship Wrestling's shows featured footage from months ago. The syndicated nature of the telecasts meant there often wasn't a lot of time to cram things in. For that very reason, Rick Rude became the first man in history to show up on WWF, WCW and ECW shows in the same 7 days. Granted, the ECW footage was a few months old, but the record still stands. When he did show up on Monday Nitro, Rude badmouthed his prior run in the WWF. Not stopping there, he also laid in to the core concept of D-Generation X, and incredibly said the McMahon-led corporation was a sinking ship. Clearly, these words would prove to be false, but Rick Rude was disillusioned by what had happened between Vince McMahon and Bret Hart.
