1. Mick Foley Lobbied WWE To Sign Him In 2005

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23lDcanhC6w&feature=youtu.be Samoa Joe has demonstrated many times throughout his career that he has what it takes to hang with the big boys in the pro- wrestling business. While it€™s fantastic news that he has signed with WWE, there have been multiple attempts by former WWE superstars to get Joe signed with Vince€™s company way earlier. Specifically, Mick Foley tried to get Joe signed in 2004/05, fully aware of just how good Joe was, even back then. According to Joe and CM Punk, who were allegedly meant to be signed together as a group, Foley pitched an idea for them to be his back-up for a €˜Foley vs. Vince€™ rivalry, centered on how they, like Foley, didn€™t have the look of a Superstar, but Foley made Vince a ton of money, and that other young guys who don€™t possess the chiseled physique Vince wants can still be big Superstars. Unfortunately, that plan never came to fruition, but had it become reality, it would€™ve been an outstanding reality-based storyline, and both Punk and Joe would€™ve been the ideal wrestlers to represent the philosophy Mick Foley would€™ve been fighting for. Around the same time, Triple H was even quoted as saying that he thought Joe was a €˜hell of a worker€™, although that praise didn€™t lead to anything. One can only imagine what would€™ve happened if it did. Do you know of any other interesting facts or stories about Samoa Joe? If so, let us know in the comments section below.
