10 Things You Didn't Know About Tajiri

10. He Wanted To Be A Kickboxer

Yoshihiro Tajiri has had one heck of a professional wrestling career, that point cannot be denied. The Japanese Buzzsaw has captivated audiences all over the world, with his intangible charisma and signature offence. A lot of that offence is built around his kicks, which are widely considered some of the most vicious in all of professional wrestling.

If his first dream had been followed, Tajiri could have found himself kicking others in a different combat world. Professional wrestling wasn't at the top of young Tajiri's bucket list, as the young man from Tamana, Japan grew up wanting to be a kickboxer. He took this dream on somewhat, actually training in kickboxing.

It wasn't even Japanese puroresu that turned him on to professional wrestling in the end. It was the lucha libre of Mexico that eventually convinced him to enter the Animal Hamaguchi Wrestling Gym, which is today considered one of the premier wrestling schools in Japan.
