5. Turned Down Offers To Wrestle With Aces & Eights

Another on-screen association for Taz in TNA was with the promotion's head heel stable, Aces & Eights. Becoming an honourary member of the group, Taz started to show signs that he was returning to the tough-as-nails gimmick of his most-fondly remembered years, threatening his fellow announcers that his brothers in the Aces & Eights would physically batter them if they questioned his words any longer. Around this time, the possibility of Taz teaming with some of the other members of the faction came up, but the man himself was far from interested, feeling he couldn't really live up to the hype. It's actually somewhat surprising that TNA officials asked Taz, because they must have been aware that he hadn't really wrestled for years, and had pretty much moved on. It could have been an interesting experiment, but it's not an idea that would have been likely to be a successful one. In TNA, it was clear that Taz was only really up for working with his mouth, backing up the Aces & Eights on commentary, and wasn't really taken in by the idea of working matches.
