Venis and Edge may have avoided becoming tag team partners, but they would become even closer just a short while later. In 1999, Edge began dating Venis' sister Alanah. They dated for a couple of years and married in November 2001. Unfortunately, their union didn't last and they divorced in March 2004. There is a common misconception that Edge and Alanah split because of the Edge/Lita affair, but that was actually Edge and his second wife Lisa (who made some scathing accusations in the aftermath of that whole scandal). Edge and Alanah are, according to Venis, still friends.
