10. Chris Jericho Nearly Got Arrested The Night Before His Surprise Royal Rumble Return

Few Chris Jericho returns were as effective as his 2013 Royal Rumble reappearance.

He'd been away since the summer, and in truth he'd not been that missed. A loser-leaves-WWE programme with Dolph Ziggler hadn't lit the world on fire, and that itself had followed a middling programme with CM Punk that failed to meet the expectations set by realistic claims to them both being the "Best In The World".

Yet, his appearance at #2 (against 'The Show Off himself at #1) free from any pomposity in the set-up was a delight. As was his performance in the match, which only becomes more impressive when exploits from a night earlier were revealed.

The future Hall-Of-Famer went nearly 50 minutes in the battle royal, just 24 hours after he'd gotten so sh*tfaced with members of Avenged Sevenfold that he ended up in a police drunk tank. Per Jericho's recollection, it went beyond a few quiet ones to the point where the law were called after they all got a bit overzealous with one another.
