These days, the episode of Raw immediately following WrestleMania has become a celebrated fusion of comebacks, debuts and fan service - it's there to set the tone for the rest of the year, and it gives everyone still in the area after 'Mania an excuse to get drunk, hijack the show and generally have a blast.

2020 notwithstanding, of course.

This year's Performance Center effort would've fit back in 1993. The 5 April '93 episode was memorable only for Mr. Fuji contesting Hulk Hogan's title win at 'Mania IX the prior night, and for the Raw debut of Jerry 'King' Lawler. Other than that, it was business as usual for a four-month-old show that was already dragging.

An aforementioned Bob Backlund vs. Kimchee match, and other odd choices like Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Virgil, Damien Demento vs. Jim Brunzell and Lawler vs. Jim Powers hardly captured the excitement surrounding the WWF's biggest show of the year. At least The Steiners vs. Beverly Brothers was solid.
