Mexican wrestler Pedro Aguayo Ramírez, who performed under the name Perro Aguayo Jr., tragically passed away on Saturday March 21st after a freak in-ring accident. The incident occurred during a tag team match on an independent show in Tijuana, Mexico. The cause of death appears to be cardiac arrest as a result of a spinal stroke. Mysterio dropkicked Perro into the ropes to set up his finisher, the 619, a move that he has performed thousands of times. On this occasion, however, something went wrong and Aguayo lost consciousness. Rey didn't connect with the 619 but the dropkick into the ropes appears to have been what caused it. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital a short time later. It was an awful scene, one that was captured by television cameras as well as by fans filming on their phones at ringside. The news was picked up by many outlets and became a major story. Regrettably, a lot of those outlets chose to blame Mysterio for the death, even though that is not only tremendously unfair but also incorrect. A lot has happened since. A wake has been held for Perro, Mysterio has received death threats and there have been tribute shows, rumours and accusations aplenty. An official investigation is pending. It is a huge story and a terrible tragedy. In all of the hysteria, many are neglecting to talk about Perro Aguayo Jr., the man and wrestler. Here are ten things you should know about him.
