6. Stevie Xavier Used Personal Tragedy To Fuel His Wrestling Dreams
Part of ICW's premier tag-team, The Bucky Boys for years, Stevie Xavier has struck out on his own lately. In other independent Scottish promotions, the Glasgow-born high-flyer does still do some tag-team work with BT Gunn, but he's mainly a singles star nowadays.
Citing the likes of Chris Sabin, Paul London and AJ Styles as his childhood favourites, the 25-year old used personal tragedy to fuel his wrestling dreams. Just as he was making strides in training, Xavier's mother passed away from cancer and would never get to see her son actually wrestle.
The motivation to make his mum proud prompted Stevie to work harder than ever at the PBW Academy. It must have been a poignant moment for him to realise his dream of taking part in a WWE tryout, even though some in the UK dismissed him as 'too small' to be an effective pro wrestler years ago.
