10 Times Awesome WWE Matches Became Nightmares

10. Eddie Guerrero & Perry Saturn Vs The New Age Outlaws - WWF 2000

WWE’s acquisition of The Radicalz- Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko, and Perry Saturn - was a huge coup and a devastating blow to WCW. Their loss forced WCW to continue to rely on ageing veterans such as Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Ric Flair, who were all well past their primes. However, one match almost derailed The Radicalz in WWE for good.

The Radicalz challenged Degeneration-X for WWE contracts. The plan was for DX to win a three-match series 2 matches to 1, and the feud would continue. Instead, The New Age Outlaws vs. Guerrero and Saturn saw an improvised finish. Guerrero dislocated his elbow after a top rope frog splash, and Billy Gunn had no choice but to pin him.

Triple H defeated Benoit and X-Pac beat Malenko to give DX a clean sweep that nearly ruined The Radicalz's WWE run. A lesser group may have been derailed. However, they persevered through the disastrous results of the angle, and Guerrero eventually returned from injury. Guerrero and Benoit later became WWE champions and headliners.
