Who would have imagined that The Undertaker would face both members of the old 'T&A' tag-team at consecutive SummerSlam events? In 2003, Undertaker was being used in even more of a 'veteran' role, working with everyone from The Full Blooded Italians to John Cena on Smackdown. At SummerSlam '03, The Undertaker faced another man WWE had high hopes for, A-Train. The resultant match wasn't anything special. WWE fans weren't really interested in treating A-Train like anything more than a mid-card talent, and even though 'Taker was still popular, this one was forgotten about as soon as it ended. Going on second, Undertaker vs. A-Train was a plodding affair. Including Sable in the bout was pretty out there too. Fans were supposed to believe that the Diva was giving A-Train 'favours' in return for taking out The Undertaker for Vince McMahon. It was all pretty far-fetched, and the dull match itself didn't convince anybody that A-Train was moving up the card. Undertaker failed to carry his opponent here, and it's no wonder the live crowd were muted.
