1. Triple H - World Heavyweight Championship
It was a move that was criticised by many, and whilst the backstage politicking aspects of it all are rather nauseating it is difficult to disagree with Triple H being the top heel on Raw in 2002. His alliance with Eric Bischoff was immensely successful in garnering heat, and whilst they got the upper hand way too often it is still difficult to criticise certain moments in the story.
With Brock Lesnar taking the Undisputed Championship to SmackDown, Raw found itself without a world champion. Bischoff rectified this on an episode of the flagship show, bringing back WCW's old world championship, the Big Gold Belt (World Heavyweight Champion).
How would a champion be crowned? Well, there's no reason to go through the rigmarole of deciding a champion when you can just give it to the guy in the ear of the boss, right? Triple H was handed the title, and everything continued as normal.
And sure, you could say it devalued the belt, but this was a belt held by Vince Russo and David Arquette, so I'm not so sure. Sometimes you don't need to work all that hard to become a champion.
