10 Times Wrestlers Ignored Direct Orders

6. Ric Flair & Randy Savage

For someone who wasn't the kind of worker who left many things to chance (he and Ric Flair famously worked out their entire match for weeks beforehand in a warehouse), Randy Savage took a big one at WrestleMania VIII. Unbeknownst to Vince McMahon, both guys agreed that Flair would blade and gush blood during the title classic.

That'd cost them some pocket money.

Bleeding was strictly outlawed by the WWF in 1992. It didn't fit with the cartoonish, family friendly atmosphere of the promotion, and annoying potential corporate sponsors wasn't something McMahon wanted to do. When Randy and Ric came back through the curtain, he gave them a stern talking to for their unplanned (or so he thought) blading.

Ric and Randy didn't have a leg to stand on when it came to arguing their case. Flair could be seen on camera cutting his forehead, and they ended up accepting a fine for disobeying company policy. Incredibly, Bret Hart was so sly he managed to get away with blading on the same card.
