One more blading story, and it's a good one.

On the 3 November 2008 Raw, Chris Jericho and Batista worked a heated Steel Cage effort for the old World Heavyweight Title. The finish called for Jericho to blast his foe over the head with a steel pipe, and neither man thought it'd be believable without some blood. So, they secretly plotted some sneaky blade work.

McMahon was left livid and doled out fines like they were going out of fashion. The disparity between each was remarkable; Batista was fined a whopping $100,000 for his part in the plot, whereas Jericho, referee Mike Chioda and agent Dean Malenko were each hit with a $5,000 penalty. Showing his class, Batista recognised his mistake and paid everyone else's fine on top of his own.

He didn't agree with Vince's decision however, and neither did Jericho. McMahon clearly wanted to make an example out of them to the rest of the locker room, and he singled-out Batista because it was his idea in the first place. That little razor blade nick would be pretty costly for 'The Animal'.
