10 Times WWE Cruelly Teased What We Really Wanted
10. Undertaker Vs Sting
From the moment the legendary face of WCW wandered out onto the ramp at Survivor Series 2014, fans allowed themselves to dream. With both The Undertaker and 'The Icon' finally under the same roof, would we finally be gifted with the sight of the two chilling figures meeting in the squared-circle at a WrestleMania?
You bet your ass we were not.
Nope, instead Vince McMahon wanted to hammer the final nail in WCW's (already buried under 50ft of dirt) coffin, jobbing the 'Stinger' out to Triple H at WrestleMania 31. One nasty buckle-bomb at the hands of Seth Rollins later and Sting's in-ring career was seemingly over.
But was it?
WWE frequently gave fans a reason to believe this once-in-a-lifetime match-up could actually come to fruition via numerous social media teases. From noticeably highlighting the crow synonymous with the WCW star in 'Taker video packages, to asking fans who would win in a match between the two in their prime, WWE knew this is what wanted all along. Yet, they were too busy playing 'The Game' to appease us foolish fans.
Sting's current bumping over in AEW, merely acts as a reminder of just how much of a missed opportunity this was.
