10 Times WWE Did Something You Never Thought Possible
10. Turned A Reality Star Into A Respected/Tenured Wrestler
How has this man gone from a second-rate reality TV star to someone AJ Styles has called the "best heel in the business"? The magic of WWE, it would seem.
Mike Mizanin started his TV career appearing in reality programmes like The Real World: Back to New York and Fear Factor. But, it was his turn on WWE's Tough Enough that would lead to him signing with the company, wrestling for nearly two decades and claiming tons of acclaim in the process. Something no-one could have predicted.
Upon his debut, he seemed like yet another flash in the pan attempt to gain mainstream recognition. His disastrous turn as the host of the Diva Search would have been a death knell for any other performer, but WWE stuck with him, and The Miz rose through the ranks, steadily improving his in-ring work and utterly killing it on the mic.
Naturally, the credit cannot fall entirely on WWE's shoulders. The vast majority of the work here came from Mike Mizanin himself, who poured his heart and soul into the business and effectively proved the haters wrong.
Still, there's no denying that the company did the impossible by generating one of the most well-known heels of the modern wrestling world out of a reality TV star.
