Chyna's role in WWE's very successful Attitude Era is often overlooked, but she was a key figure as the main female member of Degeneration from late 1997 until her heel turn in early 1999. She went from an emotionless bodyguard to somebody that the fans really started to notice. Thanks to a couple of different changes to her looks, she started to really make an impact in terms of her popularity too. Triple H was with Chyna for a few years when she decided to turn his back on him. It was on the January 25, 1999 edition of Raw, which was a day after she entered the Royal Rumble match. Hunter was in an I Quit match with The Rock and it looked like Kane was going to break Chyna's neck, but Hunter ended up saying "I Quit" to save her. When Hunter went face to face with Kane, Chyna attacked Hunter from behind with a low blow and then she ended Raw that night hugging Vince & Shane McMahon as a new member of The Corporation. It was a shocking turn because of how close Chyna was to Hunter. It turns out that Chyna was only apart from Hunter for a few months. We'll get to that story later.
