6. Vince McMahon & Hornswoggle
This is probably one to file in the 'WWE would like you to forget' folder.
The story goes that Ken Anderson, then playing the Mr. Kennedy gimmick, was supposed to be revealed as Vince McMahon's illegitimate son in 2007. When Kennedy's personal life and Wellness Policy violations played havoc with plans, WWE panicked and hastily inserted Hornswoggle into the story. Why not, eh?
Thus, Hornswoggle McMahon was born, and Triple H found the whole thing hilarious. Unfortunately for WWE, nobody else did, and the revelation totally spoiled one of the year's biggest stories. After a few months, the writers decided to pivot by claiming that it was actually Fit Finlay who fathered the midget wrestler.
When it became clear that nobody was convinced by that either, the whole story was dropped in favour of presenting little Horny as his own man. He even started talking over time, and WWE never brought up the fact he was a de facto McMahon ever again.
