10 Times WWE Tried To Repeat History With The Undertaker

10. Kane The Undertaker

In mid-1998, Kane shocked the world when he successfully defeated Mankind to become the No. 1 contender for Stone Cold Steve Austin's championship only to unmask and reveal himself to be The Undertaker.

A unique bait-and-switch that worked incredibly well (at least for those fans who weren't familiar with all of Kane's movements), it gave us our SummerSlam '98 main event. However, 'The Phenom' would pull this trick again two months later on an episode of Sunday Night Heat when he disguised himself as his brother to attack Mankind and Paul Bearer.

Furthermore, he did it again less than a year later as he attempted to fool Vince McMahon by taking on Triple H in a singles match meant for his brother - reminding the boss that his Ministry could get to him any time he so desired.

Of all the retreads on this list, this is actually the easiest to overlook given that all three of them were standalone ploys on the part of 'The Deadman'. However, as they took place so close together, it did feel a little been there, done that by the time the third one came around.
