10 Times WWE Waited FOREVER To Break Records

10. Having Number 30 Win The Royal Rumble

For 20 years, WWE told fans that number 30 in the Royal Rumble match had the best chance of winning, while also reminding us that nobody had done it before...

Number one was the worst number, but Shawn Michaels won as the first entrant in 1995, then somebody else WWE rightfully doesn't mention did the same in 2004.

It was either two decades of foresight, or somebody in the Creative Team finally went "Let's have entry number 30 win," but in 2007 they relented and had the last person to enter the match go and win the thing.

That honour with given to The Undertaker, who's got the record for most times being the final entrant too. The hoodoo was broken when 'Taker threw Shawn Michaels over the top rope and stamped his ticket to WrestleMania XXIV.

Since they finally let 30 win the whole thing, it's something WWE has fallen back on far too many times. It only took 12 months for them to surprise fans at Madison Square Garden with a John Cena return and victory with the same number.

Triple H made it three from 30 in 2016, then, for some reason they had Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes both win it by entering last in 2022 and 2023 respectively.

The floodgates opened in a big way after 20 years of fans waiting.
