10 Times WWE Wrestlers Got Burnt To A Crisp
5. MVP (Armageddon - 2006)
In one of the more unique inferno matches, MVP and 'See No Evil' Kane opened the 2006 Armageddon PPV with the former competitor exercising his athletic ability in an attempt to overcome the latter's overwhelming size.
Many prior inferno matches left quite a bit to be desired, as the structuring and finishers were nearly the same, by large. Conversely, the odd pairing of MVP and 'The Devil's Favorite Demon' made for quite the intriguing spectacle.
For most of the match, the two competitors battled dangerously close to the flames as they rose higher and higher. One stand-out sequence saw Kane remove a turnbuckle cover in an attempt to set it on fire and burn his opponent.
Although there were only so many ways to end an inferno match without a performer seriously getting hurt, both men managed to avoid repeating old tropes when 'The Big Red Machine' won the bout after choking MVP into the flames.
The mouthpiece of The Hurt Business was only on fire for a few moments. Regardless, he took an incredible risk to make the match entertaining and utilize the deadly environment instead of letting it simply be a fiery backdrop to a regular singles match.
