10 Times WWE's Sasha Banks Was The Best Wrestler In The World
The matches, moments, and arcs that have defined The Boss as one of the best wrestlers of all time.
Sasha Banks is one of the best wrestlers in the world. After her masterful title victory over Bayley at Hell in a Cell 2020, it feels undisputed that The Boss is an all time great worker and has been for a long time. Over the course of her tenure in WWE, Sasha has proven that she's capable of everything that a masterful wrestler needs.
She's one of the most natural babyfaces in the world, yet she's had some of the most iconic heel runs in modern wrestling. She's absurdly talented on the microphone, able to embed natural emotion into her voice better than almost anyone working today. Most importantly, she's capable of having a good match with anyone, being so gifted inside the ring that it's nearly impossible to have a bad match with her.
She is phenomenal in every sense and despite the company not always being fully behind her, the current SmackDown women's champion has had so many wonderful matches and moments over her few years and she's only got more brilliance to come. We are all so lucky to be witnessing her legacy as it's built.
10. Her Feud With Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks are opponents with natural chemistry. That is evident from the first seconds they lock up with each other; the two are connected in the ring in an indescribable way. Their duelling characters, mesmerising technical wrestling and natural storytelling instincts just connect perfectly.
While they've squared off against each other several times over the years, the peak of their time as rivals and the pairing that established Sasha as a star on the main roster, was in their epic feud of 2016 where they cemented the Raw Women's Championship as the most important women's belt in WWE history. The two destroyed each other in classic matches, re-defining the Hell in a Cell stipulation, working an underrated SummerSlam belter, having the best Raw matches of 2016 with emotional title switches and investing fans in every single encounter.
Even years later, there's not a better finish on Raw than Sasha tapping out Charlotte for the title while her back was sickeningly bent over metallic railing. It proved that Sasha was a babyface star, worthy of main eventing PPVs and leading the women's division forward, even if they didn't pull the trigger all the way.
