10 Times You Couldn't Admit YOU WERE WRONG About WWE

BREAKING NEWS! Sometimes, what WWE fans want isn't what they should get.

Pro wrestling fans shouldn't always get absolutely everything they want.

No, seriously. That includes the guy writing this piece! Obviously, WWE viewers have been spot on about several things (Daniel Bryan's main event push, less McMahon influence on programming etc etc), but the people get just as much wrong as the creative team when they're in the mood.

Social media has furthered a culture that was already growing before apps like Twitter/X and others made it easier for folks to air their thoughts. What was that culture, you ask? Well, it was this idea that WWE counter-productively laughs in your face and deliberately takes action solely to tick you off.

That's a ridiculous notion, being brutally honest. The company wants your interest, and thus your money, so it wouldn't make sense to purposely shoot down any chance to earn a buck. This doesn't mean the higher-ups get everything right either, of course.

It's just...wrestling fans need to take ownership of some stuff they've got wrong over the years too. Time to turn the scathing spotlight over to some who shout loudly but clearly aren't always in the right.

10. John Cena Sucks?

Well-known "John Cena Suuuuuuuucks" chants have all but vanished from WWE shows. Now, people sing along to Cena's iconic entrance tune instead, and generally lavish him with praise. Here's the thing: John never actually sucked at all. He's always been a top tier performer capable of greatness.

Have elements of his act irked many over the years? Sure, but the guy got unfair criticism from select fans even when he was bossing it on the mic and inside the ring against everyone from Triple H, Shawn Michaels to Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. He rarely, if ever, deserved that.

In 2023, folks who attend WWE shows finally realise just how valuable a talent Cena is.

Individual opinions are, of course, valid, but some of the hate was way, way, way over the top. In fact, one would go so far as to suggest a ton of the "WE HATE CENA" and "CENA SUCKS" t-shirts/chants were just grandstanding amongst those who wanted to look cool.
