5. Lord Tensai

It's a good job that Matt Bloom has been able to make a significant contribution to WWE behind the scenes, as his last in-ring run was a total nightmare.

He was always a serviceable midcarder during his first run with the company, but WWE had grander plans when he returned from a fruitful Japanese spell in 2012. Taking influence from Bloom's stints in NJPW and AJPW, WWE created the 'Lord Tensai' character, and immediately tried to push him as a monster heel.

Tensai flattened Alex Riley in his first match, then embarked upon a solid winning streak that including victories over John Cena and CM Punk - two of the company's biggest stars. There was one major problem, though: the crowd.

Bloom was taunted by chants of "Alllllberrrttt" from the very first match. All the fans could see when this supposed monster stepped through the ropes was a man once named after a penis piercing, and they couldn't take him seriously at all. The wheels gradually starting coming off Tensai's run until it became a full on trainwreck, and after ditching his follower Sakamoto, going on a winless streak, and losing what little credibility remained, Bloom turned face to become Brodus Clay's dancing sidekick.
