10 UFC Stars Who Have Destroyed The Most Legends

To be the best, you've gotta beat the best.

Over the years, many fighters have had decent runs in the UFC. Some go on to win championships and a few even manage to achieve that feat on multiple occasions, yet championships aren't the only way to build a legacy in the Octagon.

By knocking off a titan of the sport - in the form of a warrior in their prime or ageing star of days gone by - a fighter can announce themselves to the world as a prospect to be watched.

Do that against a variety of the best to ever grace the company and you're well on your way to becoming the stuff of legend yourself.

It can be shocking to see one of the best ever get levelled in a bout with a rising star or just lose out in an all-star grudge match, yet that's what makes the UFC so compelling - the idea that anyone can beat anyone on any given night.

That being said, beating a few future hall-of-famers doesn't guarantee that you will be remembered alongside those who truly dominated the competition, but it definitely helps add a bit of gloss to your record.

With all that in mind, let's take a look at a couple of stars who can claim to have conquered numerous UFC icons inside of the cage.

10. Jon Jones

Consistently being billed as the 'best ever' to ply their trade in the UFC - by Dana White himself - you'd have expected Jon Jones to have knocked off his fair share of top MMA talents.

And done that he has.

'Bones' has made mincemeat out of countless stars inside the Octagon - on his way to becoming a two-time Light Heavyweight Champion - and within that impressive record, a couple of the greats have fallen victim to his incredible arsenal.

Mauricio Rua, Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen and Daniel Cormier have all tried their damndest to dampen the hype surrounding the current Light Heavyweight Champion, but they couldn't get the job done.

Sure, the odd failed drug test and hit-and-run have taken the shine off of Jones' astounding career, but you cannot argue with his ability to withstand any type of pressure that comes his way.

Jones now sits atop the division he calls home as the undisputed king and - apart from a Brock Lesnar or Daniel Cormier super-fight - it looks as though he is fresh out of icons to victimize.
