Apparently, Bret Hart had to fight pretty hard to ensure that Vince McMahon would agree to let his brother, Owen pin him in the opening match of WrestleMania X. It's not hard to see Vince's logic, as this was the night on which Bret would once again be crowned as the main champion in the company, but looking back it all made perfect sense. Owen vs. Bret had an altogether different feel to it than Bret's match later with Yokozuna - coming across like a separate event, this battle of brothers is one of the most-beloved bouts in 'Mania history, and rightfully so. Putting on a grappling clinic, Bret and Owen were afforded a generous chunk of time to open the show. It felt like a poignant moment when Owen rolled through, pinning his family with a victory roll. The brothers would later collide in another big bout, a Steel Cage war at Summerslam 1994, but the showcase put on at WrestleMania is memorable both for the actual match content, and the fact that it was the heel who triumphed.
