After the breakup of The Shield, WWE booked former members Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a feud with one another, looking to capitalise on the latter's association with top heel group, The Authority. Concocting an in-ring segment which would see Ambrose pick apart a mannequin dressed to resemble Rollins, McMahon had high hopes for what this could do to add weight to the storyline. Talking on Chris Jericho's podcast about the planning of the segment, Ambrose laughed as he recalled McMahon showing him how he wanted to act when the cameras started rolling. Remarking that it was almost like Vince was in the room with the mannequin alone, Ambrose said he couldn't believe how into it his boss was getting with the dummy, almost spitting with anger as he said things like, "I'll rip your arms off". The segment would end up drawing a fair bit of criticism from fans, who felt it was a little hokey, but Ambrose was only acting the way he'd been instructed by the boss, looking on wide-eyed as his superior went face-to-face with the inanimate object and said he was going to pick it apart limb from limb.
