10 Underused WWE Superstars (And How They Should Be Booked)
The WWE creative team needs to maximise the usage of the current roster.
WWE has the biggest roster in the wrestling industry right now, with over 200 Superstars signed with the company. The organization has five brands now, namely RAW, SmackDown, NXT, NXT UK, and 205 Live. The fact that Vince McMahon released a bunch of wrestlers recently and still none of the shows are short on talent highlights that.
The most prominent sports entertainment firm has created several new stars in the wrestling world like Roman Reigns, Dolph Ziggler, Bray Wyatt, Big E, Charlotte Flair, and many others. They have even picked up the hot commodities from the independent circuit, a move that has helped the business gain more popularity. Since the creative team has a massive roster in its hands, they often underutilise the talent they have by keeping them off the TV or assigning them lesser roles.
While not every Superstar can hold the world championship, the underused stars at least deserve a proper direction, which could help in improving their on-screen characters. Here's a list of ten Superstars who are not receiving credible booking decisions from the writers and how they should be used.
10. Robert Roode
After a forgettable run on the main roster, it seemed like things would change for Bobby Roode when he transformed himself into Robert Roode and then picked up the tag team titles with Dolph Ziggler. Unfortunately, the former United States Champion could not continue his momentum as he soon found himself in a sidekick role. For no reason, he aligned himself with King Corbin and assisted him in his rivalries.
Given that his tag team partner 'The Showoff' has ignored him for Mandy Rose's attention, the writers should book Roode to come back and confront him for his change in attitude. Another thing which could motivate 'The Glorious One' to turn on his partner would be the fact that Ziggler featured in a singles match at WrestleMania 36, whereas he could not even find a place on the kickoff show.
This angle could help WWE get Roode over with the fans once again. Since there is a dearth of proper face wrestlers on the Blue brand, the Canadian Superstar can gain a respectable place on the roster.
