10 Unexpected WWE MVPs Of 2020 (So Far)
3. Drew McIntyre
When Drew McIntyre beat Matt Hardy on the December 9 edition of Monday Night Raw, who envisioned the Scottish Psychopath going on a winning streak he's still enjoying today? That's right, none of you!
Since returning to the WWE main roster in 2018, McIntyre hadn't really caught fire in the way fans expected him to after completely transforming himself into a main event player in his time away from the company.
Even at the turn of the year, few expected McIntyre to be given a long overdue mega-push. But, all that soon changed after the Brit claymored his way to victory in the Men's Royal Rumble match.
However, he still had to get through the then-WWE Champion Brock Lesnar on the Grandest Stage of Them All, which isn't always a given: just ask Roman Reigns and The Undertaker.
Blistering through the 'Beast Incarnate', McIntyre became the first ever British WWE Champion and proceeded to plough through The Big Show, Angel Garza, Andrade, Seth Rollins and Bobby Lashley - defending his belt five times since conquering Lesnar.
WWE firmly getting behind a star who definitely has the tools to succeed at the top shouldn't be a surprise, but on this occasion it most definitely was and a welcome one at that.
