10 Unintentionally Hilarious WWE Moments
10. The Demon King Goes To B&Q
NXT TakeOvers have been the jewel in WWE’s crowd for a while now, the most consistent source of great wrestling the company has to offer. 2016’s Dallas event is no exception, with superb tag team action, Bayley vs Asuka, the debut of Shinsuke Nakamura, and a big fight main event between Samoa Joe and the Demon King Finn Bálor.
Those who’ve seen Bálor in his pomp will know that his entrance in the demon persona is quite the spectacle. He prowls around before exploding in time to his theme, which the fans join in on (with impressive timing). Only this time, someone decided that Finn also ought to bring a chainsaw to the ring.
It’s overkill to the extreme, and makes the whole thing ridiculous. Bálor’s demon character is spooky and supernatural - there is no good explanation for him owning a chainsaw, let alone bringing it to work and revving it noisily over his killer entrance music.
There’s no denying that the addition of power tools generally makes things more exciting, but here it’s just ludicrous. Gilding the lily doesn’t begin to cover it - this turned one of WWE’s coolest entrances into something very silly indeed.
